Course Description

An introduction to the francophone world outside of France, from historical, geographical, and cultural perspectives. Concentration on North America, the French Caribbean, and Africa.

Contains a substantial writing component and fulfills part of the basic education requirement in writing.

quizzes 30% (Writing component 1)
paper 70% (Writing component 2)

A packet to be purchased. Short stories or essays by francophone writers from French Canada, the French West Indies, and Africa (North and West Africa); articles on a handful of francophone countries today.
