Course Description

This course will be devoted to the analysis of various examples of the literature of the fantastic. Attention will be given to the historical context and the esthetic merits of each work, and we will also consider the relation of each text to Todorov's typology of "l'étrange - le fantastique - le merveilleux." COURSE NUMBER MAY BE REPEATED WHEN THE TOPICS VARY.
