FR 372 • Comparative Stylistics

Course Description

An advanced study of French grammar and vocabulary with emphasis on registers, faux amis, homonyms, synonyms, paronyms, prepositions and other instances where English language pattern can easily provoke errors in French. Exercises in translation and composition.

3 tests in class (25% each); Homework assignments and class participation: 25%; Final Exam: No.
