Course Description
The goal of this course is the student's progress toward mastering the Italian language. Students will focus on enriching their vocabulary and expanding their knowledge of Italian culture. Reading material, songs, videos, and films will be used to reach this goal. In this course, students will review basic and advanced grammatical structures (expanding on some of them) and will read the material presented in the packet, which consists of articles from newspapers/ magazines, short stories and a short play. Class discussions and conversation sessions will be based on such material. There will be one individual oral presentation on grammar and three oral reports on Italian culture; the first one will be presented individually and the last two in groups. Students will also watch three Italian movies outside of class (on reserve at UGL). Some of the subjects of the compositions will be based upon the movies.
