Course Description
Introduction to modern and post-modern French literary/critical theories from an historical perspective (1945-2003). Readings in Sartre, Blanchot, Mauron, Foucault, Barthes, Deleuze, Genette, Kristeva, Serres, Cixous, Derrida, Bourdieu and others. Readings in English and French. Lectures and discussions in French.

Participation and presentations: 30% Final exam: 30% One paper: 40%
