Course Description

An introduction to the scientific study of the French language. Emphasis will be on fundamentals of grammatical analysis rather than on the study of a particular linguistic theory. Fulfills linguistics requirement for doctoral candidates in French literature. May not be counted toward a graduate degree in French linguistics or Romance linguistics.

Grading Policy

Written homework assignments: 25%. Three tests: 25% each. No final exam.
