Course Description

This course, taught in French, studies how films articulate and engage with artistic, political, social, and historical issues that have shaped French culture in the last 20 years. The films deal with WWII, postcolonialism, gender issues and contemporary French life.

Grading Policy

Class discussions and oral presentation: 10% Essays: 60% 2 short exams: 30%
