Course Description

This course will be taught in French. In this course we will study French and Francophone literature from 1750 to the present. Through our readings we will examine the aesthetics and thematics of literary movements from the Enlightenment to Romanticism, Realism, Modernism, Existentialism, Negritude and Post-Colonialism. The syllabus includes novels, essays, poetry, drama and short stories.

Grading Policy

Class participation: 15% 2 in-class presentations:  30% 5-page paper: 15% Mid-term exam:  15% Final exam: 25%
