Course Description
This course will examine key moments in the birth and development of modern and contemporary Italy through an interdisciplinary approach. We will draw on a variety of materials--poetry, theatre, fiction, history and journalism, films, art, comics and music -- to identify the social and political aspects that have been most influential in shaping the cultural identity of Italy as we know it today.
