UT Summer Workshop for Teachers of French
Mon, June 7, 2010
The Department of French and Italian of the University of Texas is pleased to announce a workshop for all teachers of French on
June 7-9, 2010
The workshop, including course materials and final luncheon, is free of charge.
All sessions will be in the HRH Computer Lab Classroom, HRH 4.102B.
In this workshop, I will introduce you to the new (forthcoming) umbrella site that has been developed for Français interactif. This umbrella site is being created to reach out to the learning community of teachers and students using, or interested in using, this curriculum. The ultimate goal of this learning community is to improve both the print and online materials, as well as accompanying pedagogical best practices.
In addition, we will preview the newly revised first and second semester book, not available online until August 2010.
Finally, we will discuss the pedagogical theories behind the progression of activities in FI. To demonstrate, participants will be asked to teach certain activities so that we can discuss best pedagogical practices.
The workshop will culminate with a lunch offered by the Department of French and Italian at the beautiful new Campus Club in the ATT Conference Center.
To register, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org <mailto:email@example.com> by Friday, May 21. I look forward to seeing you in June! Please share this information with any colleagues who might not be on our current mailing list.
