Emilie Destruel, doctoral candidate in Linguistics, was the recipient of the 2011 Texas Exes Teaching Award for a teaching assistant or assistant instructor in the College of Liberal Arts. She received her award in a ceremony at the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center on February 8, 2011. Ms. Destruel has taught both in the Department of Linguistics and in the Department of French & Italian. In this instance, she was recognized as being an outstanding teacher of first-year French.
Since 1982, the Texas Exes have honored a faculty member and graduate instructor in each school and college who has had a positive influence on the educational experience of university students. After accepting nominations from the student body, a student committee from each school reviews the nominations and selects that school’s recipients.
