Posted: August 23, 2012
Established in 2008, the Regents' Outstanding Teaching Awards program recognizes educators who demonstrate a clear commitment to teaching and sustained ability to deliver excellence to the undergraduate learning experience.
Antonella Olson, Distinguished Senior Lecturer in Italian, is one of twenty-seven faculty members at UT-Austin to receive the 2012 Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award. This is the highest recognition conferred by the UT System for excellence in teaching.
Regarding the award, Department Chair David Birdsong states, "In many ways, the Italian program’s superb reputation is a reflection of Antonella the teacher, the pedagogical innovator, the theater producer, the Rome Summer Program director. It is also, and especially, a reflection of Antonella the dynamo, the passionate personality, the role model. In this light, it is hard to imagine a more deserving recipient of the Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award."
