Proximity Cards

Proximity cards have a built-in reader element that is used with the Building Access Control System (BACS). This element enables the card to be used to access Geography Computer Labs protected by this system. The standard ID card issued does not contain a reader element.  Faculty, Staff, and Students can bring their old card to the ID Center in the FAC and exchange it for a new proximity ID card at no cost.

The BACS Administrator for Geography is M. Anwar Sounny-Slitine.To get access to a EIS or DLL computer lab, contact Anwar after obtaining your ID Card.

For more information on proximity ID cards and the Building Access Control System, please see the Campus Security Systems Web site.

Note: Do not punch holes in or bend your proximity ID card. This will break the reader element data communication wire and destroy the security access capability. There will be a charge of $10 to replace any damaged proximity ID cards.
