Diana Davis recipient of the 2008 Jim Blaut Award
The Cultural and Political Ecology Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers (AAG) has just informed Diana Davis that she is the recipient of the 2008 Jim Blaut Award, which is given "in recognition of innovative scholarship in cultural and political ecology, as demonstrated by publication of (article or book)." The award is based upon her book "Resurrecting the Granary of Rome" (2007, Ohio University Press).
The official announcement will be at the luncheon of the AAG’s Annual Meeting in Boston the week of April 14. Dr. Davis has now won three awards for her book, including the George Perkins Marsh Prize for the best book in environmental history by the American Society for Environmental History and the AAG’s Meridian Book Award for Outstanding Scholarly Work in Geography.
