The 2013 Annual Meeting of the American Meteorological Society

The 2013 Annual Meeting of the American Meteorological Society will take place in the Austin Convention Center 5-10 January 2013. The theme for this year’s meeting is “Taking Predictions to the Next Level: Expanding beyond Today's Weather, Water, and Climate Forecasting and Projections”. Thousands of attendees will explore advancements made over the past 60 years in the meteorological and related Earth System sciences, in terms of global observing systems and computer capabilities, decision support services, and an increased ability to make weather, climate and ocean predictions.

On Sunday, 6 January, there will be an outreach session from Noon to 4 PM called “WeatherFest” that is free and open to the public at the Convention Center. The Department of Geography and the Environment will have a booth in this session; all are invited.
