This Maymester facullty-led program uses Ecuador as a classroom, maximizing student experiences of a wide range of urban, rural and wild landscapes. After field experiences in Guayaquil and coastal wetlands, students will move to Cuenca where home stays with local families will provide immersion into local culture. Toward the end of the course, students will travel to the Amazonian lowlands, Quito, and the northern highlands around Cayambe and Otavalo to experience a variety of cultural landscapes and sustainable development challenges. The course will be taught in English and is open to students of every major. The program will take place from June 3 to July 3, 2015, and the deadline for applications is November 1, 2014.
