Troy Kimmel accepts position of "State Coordinator" of CoCoRahs
In accordance with the Texas National Weather Service offices as well as Colorado State University, Troy Kimmel accepted the volunteer position "State Coordinator" of CoCoRahs ("Collaborative Community Rain, Snow and Hail Network") in Texas.

Troy will work over the next few months to look at Texas University partnerships (including with Texas A and M and Texas State University) as well as organizational partnerships (for example, the Texas Farm Bureau) that might make a good fit in this grassroots private citizen precipitation observation network.

Troy believes this will be very good for the geography department and college as we recruit and involve more private citizens in this growing nationwide network of volunteer precipitation observers. He states this network will be instrumental for all Texans in the years ahead as we continue to deal with water issues in the state.
