Study Tracks in Geography
Undergraduate majors specialize by taking three courses in a concentration or "track," in addition to the core requirement and capstone seminar. Students who do well in their track are awarded an Award of Distinction Certificate.
Thinking about Environmental Studies?
Geographers study, map and analyze our changing natural and social environments at a variety of scales from local to global. Programs leading to the B.A. in Geography include Geographic Information Science, Environmental Resource Management, Landscape Ecology and Biogeography, Earth Science, Urban Geography (The City), and Cultural Geography. The Department also manages the interdisciplinary B.A. in Urban Studies. The M.A. and Ph.D. graduate programs support international and field research on a wide range of topics related to faculty expertise. Together these provide multiple perspectives and tools to understand the relationships between people and their environments, and solve problems related to local and global change.
