Film version of the novel by Swiss writer Max Frisch. Walter Faber survives an airplane crash. On a sea voyage to Europe, he meets a young woman named Sabeth, with whom he begins an affair. They travel together to Greece. Sabeth is hospitalized because of an accident, and Faber meets Sabeth’s mother, with whom he had a relationship many years ago. German subtitles.
