GERMAN MOVIE NIGHT AT THE GERMAN FREE SCHOOL

On Friday May 30th we will show Sophie Scholl: The Final Days or Sophie Scholl: Die Letzten Tage. This film is a dramatization of the last six days in the life of Sophie Scholl, one of the most famous members of a German World War II anti-Nazi resistance movement.

Unwavering in her convictions and loyalty to her comrades, her cross-examination by the Gestapo quickly escalates into a searing test of wills as Scholl delivers a passionate call to freedom and personal responsibility that is both haunting and timeless. All films are shown in German with English subtitles. Admission is free, and so are the popcorn and pretzels. Donations are gratefully accepted. Movie-goers can bring along their beverage of choice, as well as an extra cushion to make themselves cozy. The doors open at 7:00 pm, and the movie begins at 7:30 pm.
