Marianne and Juliane

Germany, 1968: A priest's daughters, Marianne and Juliane, both upset with the shortcomings of their parent’s generation, fight for social change in West Germany. However, their means are totally different. Juliane is a committed reporter. Her sister, Marianne, joins a terroristic organization. After Marianne is caught by the police and confined in prison, Juliane remains her last connection to the rest of the world. Although she does not fully accept her sister's arguments, and her boyfriend Wolfgang does not want her to, Juliane continues to help her sister. Juliane’s constant contact with her sister causes her to question the way the authorities handle social dissidents like Marianne. (approx. 106 minutes)
