Scandinavian Studies
Program in Scandinavian Studies
The Scandinavian Studies Major consists of 21 hours (including 18 hours upper-division)
as follows:
- no more than 3 hours lower division chosen from Scandinavian 301 & 308
- no more than 9 hours in language and literature chosen from Scandinavian 323, 358, 369 & 373
- no more than 9 hours in culture chosen from topics of Scandinavian 327
- no more than 6 hours in society chosen from topics of Scandinavian 335
Note: Scandinavian majors must complete the equivalent of fourth-semester language proficiency in Danish, Norwegian or Swedish.
Up to 9 hours of Study Abroad may be counted toward the UT Scandinavian Studies major.
The Scandinavian Studies Minor
The Scandinavian Studies Minor consists of 12 hours in one
other field of study, including at least 6 hours of upper–division coursework OR the fourth-semester proficiency in a second foreign language, plus one upper-division course in that language.
