The Gesellschaft für Medienwissenschaft awarded Peter Rehberg the prize for the best article published on media and gender in 2011 for his text: "Happy Homos. Über Tom of Finlands schwule Superhelden." In: Theorien des Comics. Ein Reader. Hrsg. v. Barbara Eder, Elisabeth Klar und Ramón Reichert. (Kultur- und Medientheorie.) While Dr. Rehberg received his award in Frankfurt the event took place at the Goethe Universitaet.
