Course Description

Fundamentals -- leadership, key institutions, cultural change, leading tensions under the People's Republic. Substantial Writing Component. Chinese foreign policy is covered in GOV 365L (38885) / ANS 361 (30525) CHINA AND THE NEW ASIAN REGION (visiting Prof. Liu Xuecheng, China Institute of International Studies, Beijing). For students either with or without background in either Comparative Politics or Asian government.

Contains a substantial writing component and fulfills part of the basic education requirement in writing.

Grading Policy

10-page paper (50%). Reading summaries, reference exercises, map exercise, premiums (50%).

No exams.
