GOV 341M • Decision Theory

Course Description

Survey of game theory, a mathematical theory of strategic interaction. Also, a logical analysis of different methods of election.

Grading Policy

One 75 minute multiple choice exam covering material from the first half of the course and one 75 minute multiple choice exam based mainly on the material from the second half of the course. Both exams are of the problem-solving type, similar to the SAT math exam. There is no final exam. An exam may be missed for medical reasons only. A make-up exam will be given only if the student presents a note signed by a physician. No Q-drops after the first exam. No one will be admitted to an exam more than fifteen minutes after it begins. Exam scores will be curved and a letter grade assigned to each score. The letter grades for the two exams will be averaged to yield your final grade, but your higher exam grade will be weighted twice as much as your lower exam grade.
