This is an American politics course whose varying topics are broadly focused on the relationship between elected officials and citizen-voters The purpose of the course is to sharpen your thinking, research, speaking and writing skills. The method is to put everyone to work on a research project that requires the use of all these skills. The research projects this semester will involve you in the topic of Presidential Accountability Your personal project will require library/Internet and interview or questionnaire research. In addition, you will be expected to attend regularly, do both project and common readings, make presentations, listen to and evaluate the presentations of others, and take part in discussions. The course requires a major commitment of time and energy.
