Course Description

Course number may be repeated for credit when topics vary. This course consists of three types of subject matter: Metapolitics: Explores questions about the impact of mass entertainment media on American culture, e.g. "What is television doing to our children?" Macro-politics: Explores questions about the impact of the entertainment industry on the American political system, e.g. "What impact do Hollywood campaign contributions and celebrity participation have on American election?" Micro-politics: Explores questions about conflict within Hollywood, e.g. "What rights do artists have within American copyright laws, and what are the issues raised by artists' demand for more control over their work?"

Grading Policy

3 Exams-each counting for 1/3 of the final grade
