Course Description

Fulfills second half of legislative requirement for Government. The course covers what poverty is and why it exists and persists in the US and Texas, and what is done about it terms of public policy. It also takes a quick look at global and Third World poverty.

Grading Policy

Two midterms and a final, each a third of grade; each consists of short answers and an essay. An optional paper can be written as well in addition to (not in place of) the exams.
