Course Description
Fulfills first half of legislative requirement for 6 hours of American government. Restricted to students in the Longhorn Scholars and Gateway programs of Connexus. This is an introductory course in American government and Texas politics. The basic purpose of the course is to explain how government works and how public policy is made. Because it is a small class, it will be conducted in a seminar fashion. Students will be expected to complete assigned readings before coming to class, and to take an active role in the class discussion.
