Course Description

Contains a substantial writing component and fulfills part of the basic education requirement in writing. Fundamentals -- leadership, key institutions, cultural change, leading tensions under the People's Republic. Chinese foreign policy covered in GOV 365L or ANS 361 (survey) and GOV 338L or ANS 361 (paper)

Grading Policy

10 page paper written in three stages: I. Proposal II. Rough Draft III. Final Copy Student must respond to instructor's comments on draft regarding arguement, structure and mechanics.

Four exercises, not related to the research paper Map exercise No Exams.
