Social Models Conference

A two day conference will feature speakers from the University of Texas as well as throughout the United States and Europe. Panels will feature comparisons between the U.S. and Europe on immigration and race, gender and economic issues. The keynote speaker on Friday afternoon will be Norman Birnbaum, Professor Emeritus at the Georgetown University Law Center and author most recently of "After Progress: American Social Reform and European Socialism in the Twentieth Century" (Oxford).
