Andrew Karch

Biography

Professor Karch specializes in the study of American state politics and public policy. He is the author of Democratic Laboratories: Policy Diffusion among the American States (University of Michigan Press, 2007), and his research has appeared in The Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, American Politics Research, State Politics and Policy Quarterly, and Journal of Policy History. His current projects examine the evolution of American preschool education, the politics of embryonic stem cell research, and the impact of campaign advertisements on voter turnout. He has received grants and fellowships from the Smith Richardson Foundation and the Brookings Institution.
