Research Interests: Julie specializes in the fields of political theory and public law. Her dissertation, Rape and Embodiment, explores rape law in the United States. In this project, rape is considered within the context of contemporary feminist scholarship on embodiment. This project is a critical analysis of tendencies in Western thought to create abstracted and disembodied conceptions of persons when assessing the political and legal harms incurred upon persons through sexual violence.
