Education: Professor Kraemer received his Ph.D. from the Department of Government, the University of Texas at Austin, in 1970

Research interests:
Professor Kraemer has been a faculty member of the Department of Government at the University of Texas, Austin since 1965. He has published a number of books on Texas politics and taught extensively in the field of national security policy. He has been recognized as an outstanding teacher and has received several awards including the Jean Holloway Award for Excellence in Teaching. He continues teaching part-time and writing. He is particularly interested in democracy, in democratic teaching methods and in the teaching of critical thinking.
