Education: Professor Roach received his B.A. degree from the University of Iowa, 1943; a M.A. from Harvard, 1948; and his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1950.

Research interests:
Professor Roach's fields of interest are international politics, American foreign relations, and South and Southeast Asia politics. Professor Roach edited The United States and the Atlantic Community (University of Texas, 1967), and India 2000: The Next Fifteen Years (Riverdale, 1986; Allied India, 1987). He has received a Fulbright research grant, Australia, 1951; Ford Foundation research grant, India, 1956; and a Fulbright teaching award, India, 1961. He was a member of the Board of Foreign Scholarships, 1965-74 and was on leave between 1974-78 as Counselor for Cultural Affairs, U.S. Embassy, New Delhi.
