Jason Casellas, assistant professor of Government, has been appointed to the Texas State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
“It’s a fact-finding commission meant to serve as the eyes and ears of what’s going on with civil rights in Texas, identifying concerns and monitoring possible violations,” Casellas said.
The federal commission invited Casellas to serve for a two-year appointment. The committee is currently investigating issues surrounding human trafficking.
