Roy Germano Awarded National Science Foundation Grant

Germano is a Ph.D. candidate whose fields of interest include comparative politics and methodology. His research interests focus on emigration in developing countries. His dissertation, supervised under Prof. Kurt Weyland, is entitled "Emigrants' Remittances, Social Insurance Provision, and Political Behavior in Developing Countries." In addition to the NSF grant, Germano has received other awards this year, including grants from the University of Texas and the NSF (in support of his dissertation), a scholarship from the ICPSR, and a fellowship from the NSF. He is also the recipient of the MacDonald Dissertation Fellowship from the University of Texas.
