Alan Sager Wins Ransom Award
Veteran lecturer recognized for teaching excellence

Alan Sager, a lecturer in the Department of Government, has been selected to receive a Harry Ransom Award for Teaching Excellence.
Sager has lectured in the department every semester for 22 years and running, and he is widely recognized for soldering on because he loves the classroom and the opportunity teacing affords him to interact with and mentor students. He stands out in particular for his legal background, his experience in practical party politics, famous end-of-semester dinners at his home, the demanding nature of his courses, and his preference for carrying on a dialogue with students, using the Socratic method.
