Undergraduate Advising Office
The Government Undergraduate Advising Office is located in Batts Hall (BAT 2.102). Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 pm.The Government Undergraduate Advising Office provides one-on-one counseling regarding degree plans, course descriptions, scholarships, internships, study abroad programs, honors programs, petitions, special waivers, scholastic probation, and transfer of credit. We also assist students with class registration, the add/drop process, and long-term planning.

Except during registration periods, the advising office sees students on an appointment basis. Students are encouraged to make appointments at least one day in advance. To schedule an appointment, call 512-232-7283, or drop by the advising office. Please do not attempt to schedule appointments via e-mail or voicemail.
While advising is not required for students unless they are new to the major or on scholastic probation, it is recommended that all GOV majors visit the advising office regularly (especially during the last two years of coursework).
