Honors Program
The Honors Program in Government offers academically ambitious students the opportunity for added challenge in their undergraduate career with a senior thesis, stimulating honors seminar courses, and instruction from the most distinguished faculty in the Department.
Admission Requirements for Honors Seminars and Tutorials
- GPA: 3.50 minimum average in Government coursework
- GPA: 3.00 minimum overall at the University
- Minimum of 30 hours of coursework (including 6 semester hours of GOV)
- Students do not need to be enrolled in the thesis program to take honors seminars and tutorials
Requirements for Graduation with Special Honors
- Acceptance into the departmental honors program
- GPA: 3.50 minimum average in Government coursework
- GPA: 3.00 minimum overall at the University
- 30 semester hours of Government, including GOV 679HA and HB
- 60 semester hours completed in residence at the University
- Successful defense of thesis
