Course Description

An introduction to the impact of Islam on Spain and North Africa, with emphasis on social, economic, and cultural development. The interplay of Christian, Jewish, and Islamic cultures as well as Western views of Islam in the medieval period will also be treated.

Grading Policy

Mid-term and final, 70% One short paper, 30%
