Course Description
Lecture topics include the Texas Revolution, The Republic, Annexation, the Mexican War, Politics in the 1850s, Secession and Civil War, Reconstruction, Indians, the Cattle Kingdom, Agrarian Discontent, Governor Jim Hogg and Reform, Populism, a Changing Economy, Mexican-Americans and Blacks, Progressivism. Students are quizzed over the lectures and required readings.
