HIS 365G • US Economic History Since 1880-W
Students will assess the development of the United States economy in the years since 1865. The readings and lectures will present material from different perspectives, such as that of labor, management, the entrepreneur, and the state. Students will write three essays synthesizing the readings and lectures to arrive at their own accounts of the performance of the economy as well as the consequences of economic growth for social welfare. Partially fulfills legislative requirement for American history.
Three essays of roughly four to six pages in length.
