HIS 397K • Lit of U.S. History before 1865
2:00 PM-5:00 PM
This is the first half of the two-semester required course in the historiography of the United States. It is normally taken only by beginning graduate students in American history, though others are welcome with permission of the History Department graduate office. The class is designed to provide a general and idiosyncratic survey of some significant works and traditions in the historiography of the pre-Civil War United States.
