Course Description
This course introduces students to selected topics in colonial and 19th century Latin American history and culture through film, readings, documentaries, class discussion and lectures. One goal is to explore significant influences that have molded Latin American history from the conquest through the 19th century. Another is for students to develop their analytical ca[abilities to utilize both visual and written materials as they engage in discussion, write analytical essays and prepare individual projects.
