Course Description

A lecture course about American history since 1941. The course will explore several broad themes that were debated in the political arena, including immigration, affirmative action, school segregation, drugs and crime, tax policy, women's rights, terrorism, changes in mass media, suburbanization, the environment, globalization, and health care. In the course, students will engage with provocative questions about each era, such as "Was World War II really the 'Good War?" and Sprawl - Good, Bad, or Both?
