Course Description
This course will introduce topics on the social, political, economic and cultural history of Turkey in the twentieth century. The course will focus on the concepts of nation-state and nationalism as major forces in the history of modern Turkey. In addition to the assigned readings, various visual materials, including films, will be used in class.
