HIS 350L • American Occupation of Japan-W
3:00 PM-6:00 PM
This course will focus on Japan during the period of the US occupation (1945-1952), which we will study as a comprehensive political, social, economic, and cultural process. While no prior study of Japanese history is required, interested students should plan on beginning the class with at least the level of knowledge you would get by reading a short outline history of modern Japanese history.
Discussion-based seminar format. 12-15 page research paper and several shorter writing assignments.
