Course Description
Scholars of medieval English/British history have been fortunate over the years. The number and quality of the primary sources that have survived have allowed scholars unparalleled access into the activities, behaviors, and mentalities of those who chronicled the period. In this course, we will examine medieval England through many of these primary sources (in translation where available). We will examine the sources themselves in an effort show students what types of sources are available and to explain the potential and limitations of the various sources

Short, synoptic review articles dealing with reading assignments, due weekly Short Comparative/Analytical Paper due at midterm Short Comparative/Analytical Paper due at end of term
