Gender Symp.: Book discussion with Gail Collins

Fri, October 30, 2009 • 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM • GAR 1.102

New York Times columnist and author Gail Collins is coming to Austin as part of the Texas Book Festival and is promoting her new book When Everything Changed: The Amazing Story of American Women from 1960 to the Present.  Ms. Collins will give a short presentation on her new book with discussion to follow.

Beyond an impressive career as a journalist and author, throughout which she has offered great insight into American culture and politics, Ms. Collins was the first female editor of the New York Times editorial page. Her books, beyond her new volume on women's history, include America's Women: Four Hundred Years of Dolls, Drudges, Helpmates, and Heroines, Scorpion Tongues: Gossip, Celebrity and American Politics, and with her husband Dan Collins, The Millennium Book.

Ms. Collin's new book was released on October 14 and she will happily sign copies at the event. Beverages and light snacks will be provided.
